Man charged with human trafficking appears in Jackson court

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man was in city court Monday on a charge of human trafficking. Maurice Alexander is accused of arranging to meet two women in Jackson over the weekend he had met on the website backpage.com so he could drive them to Memphis and prostitute them. The affidavit says he was charging each of the women $700 to join his “team.” Alexander is free on a $7,500 bond.
