DOWNTOWN JACKSON — An alleged gunman in a July 4 shooting at a Jackson hotel appeared Wednesday in city court. Christian Ray Love is accused of robbing a man at gunpoint in a room at Old Hickory Inn on the Highway 45 Bypass and then shooting him in the stomach, according to an affidavit. The victim told police he was buying marijuana from Love and another man in the hotel room. He said he bent down to get $320 from his duffel bag and stood up to find the other man pointing a semi-automatic handgun at him. A struggle took place, and the gunman shot the victim in the right hand and stole the cash, according to the affidavit. The victim told police Love then turned as he was fleeing the room and shot him in the stomach. Love is charged with attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. He is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
