Police search for suspect in stabbing of South Nashville man

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say police are searching for a suspect in connection with the stabbing of a 50-year-old man in South Nashville.

The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/1Mr15aA) reports that police say officers responded to the Airways Motel early Monday morning after receiving a report that a man had been injured.

Metro police spokeswoman Kris Mumford says officers found a woman rendering aid to a man on the ground who had been stabbed multiple times in the chest and back.

Police say the man, who is from South Nashville, was transported to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say no arrests have been made, and a motive for the attack remains under investigation.
