Authorities say Keisha Chavis faces 13 insurance fraud charges in which she used TennCare as payment. She also is charged with two counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

Brittany Chavis is charged with eight counts of TennCare fraud involving the practice known as “doctor shopping.”

The department says both women are accused of visiting multiple physicians in a short period of time to obtain prescriptions for the painkiller Tramadol.
