Former Department of Children’s Services caseworker charged

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) – A former caseworker with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services has been charged with having unlawful sexual contact with a woman at a home he was visiting as part of his work.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said 42-year-old Eulice Handy of Nashville was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of sexual battery. He is being held on $25,000 bond at the Rutherford County jail.

The TBI accused Handy of having sexual contact with a woman without her consent at a La Vergne home that he was visiting to conduct an assessment of living conditions.

A TBI news release said Handy is no longer employed by the Department of Children’s Services.

Online jail records didn’t indicate whether he is represented by a lawyer.
