Relative: Ohio native among injured in Chattanooga shootings
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) – A relative says a sailor who grew up in northwest Ohio is among the wounded in the attacks on two military facilities in Tennessee.
Linda Wallace of Midlothian, Texas, says her grandson, Randall Smith, was injured in the shootings that killed four Marines on Thursday in Chattanooga.
Smith is a reservist serving on active duty in the Navy.
Wallace says Smith grew up in the northwest Ohio city of Paulding, near the Indiana state line, and joined the military after attending college in Ohio.
Wallace says she has spoken with her daughter who is with Smith but she says didn’t know many details about his injuries.
Wallace says her grandson is married and has three young daughters who aren’t yet school-age.
