Wiser sworn in as Jackson police chief

JACKSON, Tenn. — Julian Wiser is officially the chief of police for the city of Jackson. Mayor Jerry Gist named Wiser as chief Wednesday, according to a release from the city. Wiser was sworn in by Judge Blake Anderson Wednesday morning. Wiser had served as interim police chief since October. He has been with the department for 19 years, according to the release.
