Police: Man taken into custody, accused of aggravated assault

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man was taken into custody by officers Monday on accusations of aggravated assault. According to court documents, a woman told police Marcus Boyd was at her east Jackson apartment on Daugherty Street around midnight Monday. She said Boyd become angry and pulled out a knife, threatening to cut her. Documents also indicate the woman told officers Boyd also threatened to shoot up her apartment and that she noticed a pistol in the cargo pocket of his shorts. The report states one eyewitness told police Boyd then walked outside and threatened to shoot up the apartment. She urged Boyd not to shoot because children were inside. Documents said officers found Boyd in the parking lot of the apartment complex along with a knife and a gun that was found nearby. He was taken into custody. Boyd is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
