Peterson promoted to Triple-A

Jackson Generals announced infielder D.J. Peterson was promoted to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday afternoon. This is first trip to the Triple-A level for the Seattle Mariners’ prospect. In 93 games, Peterson hit .223 with seven home runs, a team-best 19 doubles and 44 runs batted in. Peterson started off the season shaky, but found his swing in early July. From July 5 to July 11, the 2013 draft pick had a season-long seven-game hit streak. Four days later, he hit his fifth-career grand slam. Peterson was considered Mariners’ second-best prospect by Baseball America entering the season.
