JACKSON, Tenn. — Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz is stopping Monday in the Hub City. Cruz and his team will be at the Jackson Fairgrounds to talk with voters about his bid to become the Republican presidential candidate. Cruz is a Texas senator and is stopping for a meet-and-greet and barbecue dinner. The Madison County Republican Party said they hope this will open up more opportunities in the future. “We’re hoping on our end that we’ll set a good example and get more candidates in the near future,” Madison County Republican Party Chairman Mike Peery said. Online registration to attend the event ends Sunday night on their website, www.mcrptn.org. Organizers said tickets are selling out for the dinner and that any still available will be sold at the event. The campaign stop is open to the public.
