Man accused of hitting woman with vodka bottle

JACKSON, Tenn.- A man faced a a judge Friday after he is accused of fighting a woman on the side of a Jackson street. Dennis Lee Hurt is charged with aggravated domestic assault. According to court documents, the victim was on the ground near Old Hickory Boulevard while Hurt was continuously hitting her. According to the affidavit, when approached by officers, Hurt denied the assault saying he was trying get bus fare. However the woman told officers the suspect hit him in the head with a vodka bottle.
