MARTIN, Tenn. — Police are searching for a driver they say struck a utility pole Tuesday and then left the scene on foot, abandoning the car. Larry Dewayne Harper, 38, of Martin is accused of fleeing on foot after the one-vehicle crash on McCombs Street, according to police. Police responding to the scene found a white 2004 Pontiac Grand Am had hit a utility pole on the east side of the street. The one passenger in the car was still there and was not seriously injured, police say. Harper is wanted on charges of driving on revoked, duty upon striking fixtures and failure to comply with financial responsibility law, according to police. Damage to the pole is estimated at $1,000.
