Utility vehicle for charity raffle stolen in Sevier County
SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office says a utility vehicle being raffled off to support charity has been stolen.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1NoI0IP) the Polaris RZR 570 was on a trailer in a store parking lot when it was taken around midnight Friday.
The vehicle was part of a raffle by the Smoky Mountain Celebration to benefit Sevier County high school sports, the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, the Sevier County Fair and nonprofits like Safe Harbor, which helps abused and neglected children.
The vehicle is valued at about $12,000. A reward of $500 is being offered for its recovery.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office.
