JACKSON, Tenn. — A man was in city court Wednesday on accusations of trying to attack his neighbor with an ax handle. Thomas Spauldings is facing an aggravated assault charge after allegedly charging toward a woman with an ax handle and swinging it at her, according to an affidavit. Another person had to assault Spauldings to stop him, according to police. The neighbor told police she heard Spauldings yelling from his front yard and threatening to shoot someone. When she spoke to him, she says he told her to get out of his yard, according to the affidavit. She told him she was in her yard, and that’s when she says Spauldings went to his porch, grabbed the ax handle and came after her, the document states. Spauldings’ bond is set at $3,000.
