Memphis officer appears in court after Humboldt arrest

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A Memphis police officer arrested Aug. 14 for allegedly buying drugs from an undercover officer in Humboldt appeared Wednesday in court. Joshua McCann faces drug and gun charges after police say he tried to buy hydrocodone in the Wal-Mart parking lot. A loaded handgun, 38 pills and digital scales were recovered from the car he was driving, according to police. McCann was taken to the Gibson County Jail and booked on charges of possession of a handgun during the commission of a dangerous felony, possession with intent the sell and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police. His bond is set at $30,000, and his hearing was reset to 1 p.m. Oct. 14.
