DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Dino’s Bar and Grill in downtown Jackson won’t be adding beer to the menu. The Jackson City Beer Board unanimously voted against a permit request from Carey Dean to sell, store and serve the alcoholic beverage. Earlier this month, the committee approved the sale pending approval from the City Fellowship Baptist Church. A letter on the church’s behalf presented by City Attorney Lewis Cobb asked the church be factored out of the final decision. “The applicant nor the venue was going to be something that would be advantageous to the downtown area,” Charles Rahm, chairman of the beer board, said. Officials say Dean will have to wait at least one year before reapplying for a permit.
