JACKSON, Tenn. — One of Jackson’s largest church congregations celebrated their 65th anniversary Sunday. Englewood Baptist Church held special services and a church-wide picnic to celebrate the church’s long history in Jackson. “That legacy started a long time ago with about 32 people in a block building,” Senior Pastor Jordan Easley said. “West Jackson Baptist Church actually birthed us as a mission 70 years ago. Sixty-five years ago, we became a church, and since that day God has blessed it and it is what we see today.” “It’s a unique opportunity we have today because we started as a mission of West Jackson, and now we have an opportunity to expand to our first multi-site campus in Medina starting this January,” he added. Young and old came together to share memories, stories, and reflect on how the church has grown through the years.
