JACKSON, Tenn. — Rumors swirled among parents and staff Friday afternoon at Liberty Tech Magnet High School about whether they had a principal — and it turns out they don’t. The Jackson-Madison County School System sent out a release stating they are seeking a change in leadership for the high school. However, a reason for the change was not given. “Liberty Technology Magnet is an important part of our academic offering, and we will always work to have a strong leadership team for each of our schools,” Superintendent Dr. Verna Ruffin said in the release. School board members said Ruffin called them saying she did intend on replacing Dr. June Murry. Some sources said the principal was escorted from the school Thursday night and handed over her keys. We have not yet received access to Murry’s personnel file. The school system said they are currently in the search for a new principal.
