Woman charged with impersonating veterinarian

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman is charged with impersonating a licensed professional after allegedly performing veterinary services illegally. After receiving several complaints, a local veterinarian discovered Tammy Bender was treating and medicating animals. Bender also contacted a local rescue group to offer to treat rescue horses for a reduced fee. An official with the State of Tennessee Department of Agriculture confronted Bender and requested her veterinary license number, at which time she reportedly admitted she was not a veterinarian.
