MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.-Jackson and Madison County emergency responders got a little practice Thursday in working a hazardous chemical spill. Agencies from across the area participated in the excercise this morning along Flex Drive in east Jackson.

Organizers said they emphasized organization between different departments and worked on ways to make the workflow move quickly and efficiently. “It’s about inter-operability and training networking, learning to work with each other taking the training that we’ve had in the past, coordinating those efforts so that everyone’s able to go home at the end of the day,” said Jimmy Floyd, operation manager with the Jackson-Madison County EMA. The city and county fire departments, Madison County EMA, EMS, the sheriff’s department and JPD all participated in the training.
