Miss Tennessee Finishes Strong in Miss America Pageant

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn.– Hundreds of West Tennesseans gathered around the television to watch the new Miss America be crowned. It was an exciting Sunday night as West Tennessee’s very own Hannah Robison representing the Volunteer State and her hometown of Buchanan. “We are all about Hannah Robison, Miss America, go Miss Tennessee,” Kathy Ray said. The small town came together to root on their very own on the biggest stage. “She’s a sweet, kind person. I’ve just known her to always have a really big heart,” Deborah Beasley said. The small town in Henry County has been overwhelmed by support when Hannah was crowned in June. “There’s lots of parties and she is all over Facebook. It’s amazing that the next Miss America could be from Paris, Tenn.,” Kim Foster said. During a Sunday night free watch party at the Henry County Fairgrounds, no one was surprised to see Robison do as well as she did. “We are not surprised at all. She’s beautiful inside and out and we are just so proud of her,” Ray said. Robison finished in the top 7 at the end of the night. Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell was crowned Miss America.
