HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — The Henry County Sheriff’s Department has introduced a new mobile alert text system for Henry County residents. The new alert system will inform residents of any emergency in Henry County. “Everyone texts these days, so we want you to be in the know,” Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew said. “We want to be able to get the information over to you, whether it’s an EMA situation or a road blockage or suspicious person. So it’s a good way for us to communicate with the public.” Henry County resident Randall Pritchett thinks this change is a move in the right direction for Henry County. “I think it might be a good idea for a lot of people around here getting around here and understanding what’s going on in this little town,” Pritchett said. “A lot of stuff goes on that people don’t really know about. So, I think it’s best for them to have it like this.” The text alert system is now active. For instructions on how to sign up, take a look at the Seen on 7 section of our website.
