Henry Co. sheriff’s office turns 800 lbs. of drugs over to state

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — The sheriff’s office gathered a total of 800 pounds of drugs Tuesday, but they never had to conduct any searches to find them. The Tennessee DEA and Meth Task Force were at the sheriff’s office to collect all the pharmaceuticals placed in the department’s drug drop-off box over the past eight months, according to the sheriff’s office. Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew said the DEA and Meth Task Force now will transport the drugs back to Nashville to be destroyed in an incinerator.
