DRESDEN, Tenn. — Two armed men were arrested after robbing the Q-mart on East Main St. early Tuesday morning. According to reports, 28-year-old Darnell Roberts walked into the Q-mart and asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes. Once the clerk turned around, Roberts then pulled out a gun and aimed it at the clerk while demanding money. Once the man left the store, police say there was a getaway car outside driven by Shawn Williams. “It was a bad time for them to try and do a robbery because about a block and a half of one side of the street were three officers, and on the other side of the street were three officers in a parking lot,” Investigator Steve Howe said. The two suspects got away with a total of $289 before being stopped by Dresden police. Another Q-mart employee says he’s thankful the two men were caught. “Feels kind of bad, kind of dangerous, but I’m happy police got the robbers”, said Q-mart employee Ameri Alemharehi.
