MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Many recognize October as a month of fall festivities, and many family friendly activities are now popping up in West Tennessee. “We like this to be a place you can come and make memories,” said Rose Ann Donnell of Donnell Century Farm Activities. Many came out to Donnell Century Farm Thursday to enjoy a day of fall fun. “We have a lot of this to do that are educational as well as fun,” Donnell said. One of their biggest attractions is the corn maze. This year’s theme features law enforcement emblems as the maze. “This year we have three different mazes at Donnell Century Farm,” she said. “We like to have different levels of complexity.” The farm also offers other family friendly activities. “Corn boxes that children can play in that have shelled corn, we have a walk-through village they can gather crops and sell at the farmer’s market,” Donnell said. Falcon Ridge Farm has also opened its gates to the public, offering a corn maze with maze trivia to guide maze goers to the end. “Each time you come to an intersection there’ll be a trivia question about mazes,” said Bart Gilmer of Falcon Ridge Farm. “If you can get that question right, it’s going to send you down the right path. If you get it wrong, it’s going to send you down a dead end.” Gilmer said the maze can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 35 minutes, depending on how well you solve the trivia questions. Both Donnell Century Farm and Falcon Ridge Farm offer fun and unique actives for the entire family to enjoy all day. “We got a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides, hay rides, train rides, got a great big corn box for kids to play in, a couple of play grounds,” Gilmer said. Both farms are open through the end of the month. For a complete list of times of operation as well as other fall activities around West Tennessee, visit the Seen on 7 section of our website.
