Mary Kay Foundation awards $20K grant to WRAP

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Mary Kay Foundation awarded a local domestic violence program Wednesday with a $20,000 grant. Wo/Men’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program, serving 16 counties in West Tennessee, is one of 150 domestic violence shelters across the country to receive the funds, according to a WRAP release. “At WRAP, we are incredibly grateful for support from The Mary Kay Foundation and its commitment to break the cycle of domestic violence,” Daryl Chansuthus, executive director, states in the release. “Since last October, WRAP‘s advocates have served on average three victims a day, but we know that there are many more we have still not reached.” WRAP will use the unrestricted funds to provide critical support to its programs, the release states. WRAP is the only agency in West Tennessee providing services to victims of both sexual and domestic violence, providing a 24-hour crisis line, safe shelter, individual counseling, support groups, advocacy, case management, financial assistance, transportation and resource linkage, according to the release.
