Accused gunman found guilty in 2014 shooting

JACKSON, Tenn. — An alleged gunman accused of shooting a man five times last year has been found guilty. A Madison County jury found Harold Vaughn guilty Friday of shooting a man five times last November. Officials at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office say Vaughn was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and especially aggravated robbery. Prosecutors say Vaughn attacked Christopher Tompkins last November after offering him a ride at the Love’s gas station along Interstate 40. Vaughn’s sentencing is set for Nov. 23.
