JACKSON, Tenn.-Country music took over the Hub City Saturday night all to back up the men and women in blue…. The first annual ‘Back the Badge’ fest was hosted tonight by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department to raise funds for the Tennessee Public Safety Network. The performers in this event consisted of Brandon Rhyder, Linda Davis featuring the band ’45-RPM and Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives. “We recently used the network after our deputy, Rosemary Vela was killed in the line of duty in a traffic accident and it just helps officers have a good out to talk to like individuals that understand the stresses that you go through in police work, said Major Michelle Mehr with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. The sheriff’s office said they plan to make the ‘Back the Badge’ fest and annual event…including more departments from the surrounding areas.
