EAST JACKSON, Tenn. — Lane College hosted a walk in an effort to inform people about the dangers of domestic violence. The walk started at the college, making it’s way towards many local streets. The event was dedicated to a Jackson woman who was shot twice by her husband but survived. Event creator, Latanza Kidd said it’s something very close to heart, and she felt she had no choice but to start the event. “This is a domestic violence awareness walking program in order to get domestic violence out, I have a best friend who fell victim to domestic abuse. It must be stopped. People need to know that they can get help if needed,” Kidd said. The event concluded with a presentation on domestic abuse awareness.
