JACKSON, Tenn. — Goodwill is helping take aim at unemployment in West Tennessee. Goodwill Career Solutions Center is hosting three job fairs this Tuesday. Mclean Power is seeking to fill more than 20 positions in Gibson County, and Staff Management is hiring more than 100 positions over the next two weeks starting Tuesday. “Could be doing anything from packaging to helping on the assembly line, the production lines,” Ronnie Phillips with Staff Management said. Sandra Hickey, district manager with Goodwill Career Solutions, said Union City is also hosting one of the largest job fairs of the year with local employers looking to fill more than 500 positions. “The one in Union City, we are looking for everything. It can be care giving, clerical, manufacturing, a lot of manufacturing, and it’s entry level to skilled professional,” Hickey said. Goodwill Career Solutions plays the middle man connecting employees to employers, and with more than 500 jobs available in West Tennessee at the job fairs this week, organizers say that no matter your background, they will help you find a job. “The jobs are there if someone wants to work,” Hickey said. “All they have to do is come to the job fair, complete some of those applications, meet some of those employers and see what they are interested in.” The jobs range from entry level to those that require some type of experience and pay from $10 to $15 an hour. “A resume would be great. If they have one they need to bring an ID and show up ready and dressed to interview,” Hickey said.
