JACKSON, Tenn. — The city’s Beer Board calls nearly a dozen businesses in for hearings later this week, each accused of selling beer to minors. City officials say the businesses were caught in an undercover sting from the state Alcoholic Beverage Commission earlier this year. The businesses include: – Picasso Bistro & Pizzeria located at 10 Stonebridge, Suite A; – Genghis Grill located at 1231 Vann Drive; – Blues and Rock Empoureum and Eatery located at 603 B Vann Drive; – Tapp Bar and Grill located at 719 Old Hickory Boulevard; – Don Pancho II, Inc. located at 1081 Vann Drive; – Red Lobster located at 123 Stonebrook; – Hot Spot located at 1291 North Highland Avenue; – The Wingery located at 595 Old Hickory Boulevard; – West Alley Barbecue and Smokehouse located at 215 West Main Street; – The Ultra Lounge located at 1869 Highway 45 Bypass. The offense is something members of the Beer Board say they’re taking seriously. “Certainly lets us know that there’s been a breakdown in the establishments and their responsibility in selling beer, and certainly that’s a concern,” Beer Board Chairman Charles Rahm said. More than 15 businesses have either been fined or had their licenses suspended since September. City officials say first-time offenders have fines levied while repeat offenders have their license suspended.
