20-year-old woman charged in fatal shooting in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A 20-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of another woman in Nashville.

Multiple media outlets report Paige Elliot is charged with homicide in the death of 33-year-old Olympia Hobbs on Sunday.

Metro Nashville Police say Hobbs answered a knock at the door of her home around 2 a.m. Authorities say when she answered, she was shot. Hobbs later died at a hospital.

Police say her two children, ages 13 and 5, were also home at the time of the shooting. They were not hurt.

Police say they do not believe the incident was random. The shooting remains under investigation.

Elliot is being held on bond. It isn’t immediately clear if she has an attorney.
