Body found along bank of Cumberland River

PALMYRA, Tenn. (AP) – Officials say the body of a man has been found along a bank of the Cumberland River in Middle Tennessee.

Montgomery County Emergency Management Director Jerry Buchanan told media that first responders were called to the scene in Palmyra on Monday around 8 a.m. after a boater reported seeing the body. Buchanan said crews located the body near the Yellow Creek boat ramp. He said the body had been in the water before getting hung up in debris on the riverbank.

Officials have identified the man as 31-year-old Jesse Lee Myer, of Clarksville.

An autopsy was scheduled to determine how the man died.
