Dyer Co. deputies capture fugitive wanted by U.S. Marshals

DYER COUNTY, Tenn. — A man on the run from authorities has been arrested. Kenneth Hipps was arrested around 11 p.m. Wednesday by the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department. Hipps, a convicted sex offender, was being sought by the U.S. Marshals Service after allegedly cutting off his ankle bracelet last week and later leading Dyer County deputies on a chase Friday. Hipps is charged with criminal trespassing, criminal impersonation, driving on revoked/suspended license, failure to appear, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of schedule II drugs and felony theft of property, according to the sheriff’s department.
