Henry Co. K-9 deputy catches burglary suspect

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — A man is now behind bars thanks to the help of a K-9 deputy. Droid, the Henry County Sheriff’s Department’s German Shepherd, subdued a man suspected of burglarizing car parts from an abandoned Henry County building. According to Sheriff Monte Belew, someone noticed a suspicious man behind an abandoned building and called the authorities. Deputies then arrived to the scene. Once the suspect, later identified as Lance Blackburn, realized the deputies were on his trail, he ran into the abandoned building and somehow ended up on the roof. In an attempt to avoid getting arresting, Blackburn jumped from one rooftop to another before finally jumping from the roof to the ground. Once Blackburn was on the ground, Droid bit him three times, twice in the shoulder and once on the back. Blackburn was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and one count of evading arrest.
