Hardeman County to receive new emergency building

BOLIVAR, Tenn. — Hardeman County soon will be the new home to a joint emergency facility, a combination between the Bolivar fire station and the Emergency Medical Services building. “We’re going in with the city of Bolivar on a joint venture,” said Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain. “This facility will house the EMS center and substation for the city of Bolivar fire station.” The new building will be more than 22,000 square feet and will be located at Bolivar Industrial Park. EMS employee J.D. Yancey said this is something that should have happened a long time ago. “I think it’s a great thing for Hardeman County in general. It’s very well past due.” The mayor says the move-in should take place at the first of the year. “We hope to be in it sometime in January, ” Mayor Sain said. “It is a pre-engineered metal building, and then inside would be finished out for sleeping quarters and those things.” The original Bolivar fire station will remain fully functional once the new fire department is complete.
