Washington-Douglas Headstart holds annual health fair

JACKSON, Tenn. — One local school held their seventh annual health fair Thursday afternoon for students and their parents. Washington-Douglas Headstart hosted a health fair including multiple community businesses to raise awareness for information and services available in Jackson. Organizers handed out safety brochures and door prizes as well as lots of good information for families to stay healthy. “We believe in strengthening families, and when the families are strengthened it helps the children,” event coordinator Bernita Perry said. “We talk about their safety and their health, their well being, and that’s always a good thing for any family.” Perry says they were expecting close to 100 families to come through.
