Malesus Elementary hosts veterans for luncheon & ceremony
JACKSON, Tenn. — One local elementary school honored veterans Friday just a few days before Veteran’s Day. Malesus Elementary hosted around 100 veterans at the 14th annual luncheon and ceremony Friday afternoon. The lunch was provided by the South Jackson Civitan Club and the program honored those who have served our country.
“They’re sharing stories and just having a fun time catching up with each other and just discussing common interests with each other,” event coordinator Jennifer White said. Organizers say it was an emotional day and that one of the veterans honored was 102 years old.
