Riverside’s Robertson resigns

After nearly three decades of coaching, Riverside head football coach Jeff Robertson is resigning. Robertson led the Panthers to the playoffs in all three of his seasons there. “It was kind of a personal decision that I and my family made,” Robertson said. “This is 28 or 29 years. They all run together” The 4-7 Panthers were hampered with injuries this season. Robertson is proud they battled through the storm and earned a postseason berth. “We had a very difficult season. I’m proud of our kids hanging in there during difficult times,” Robertson said. “We managed to make the playoffs. As disseminated as we were by injury, I was very proud of that.” “Against McKenzie last Friday, we probably had five starters out. Been that way all year” Robertson isn’t retiring from coaching all together, but he’s looking forward to the break. “Right now it’s for good,” Robertson said about hanging up his hat. “It’s going to have to be the right situation. You never say never. Right now, I’m not interested.”
