Madison’s Jimmerson first DI softball signee
Madison Academic witnessed a first on Thursday afternoon. Senior Alexus Jimmerson became the first-ever softball player to join a Division I school as she signed with Jacksonville State University. “I’m extremely excited. I plan on being a big impact my freshman year,” Jimmerson said. “If I just have to motivate my teammates or pitch or hit, I’m willing to do anything for my teammates.” The Gamecocks interest in Jimmerson started during her junior year. It didn’t take long for her to commit. “Two days after my visit because I knew that was the place for me,” Jimmerson said. “I didn’t want to go too far away from home. Four hours was my limit, and it’s like four hours. It fits perfectly”
