Organization hosts 10th Annual Walk for American Education

JACKSON, Tenn.– Crazy characters came to life Saturday morning in downtown Jackson for the 10th Annual Walk and Run for American Education Week hosted by the Phi Delta Kappa Sorority. Participants were asked to bring new and used books to donate to the Hands Up! preschool program, and all proceeds benefited the sorority’s scholarship program. “Each year we select an organization in the community to donate books and we chose hands up because of course that is a preschool program,” sorority president Rosalyn Wilson said. Organizers said they had around 40 walkers registered for the event.
