Church collects 3,000 boxes for ‘Operation Christmas Child’

PARIS, Tenn. — Another area church turns its attention toward Christmas for children who may have no presents to unwrap. First Baptist Church in Paris is part of the Samaritan’s Purse “Operation Christmas Child” drive. The goal is to collect clothes, school supplies, hygiene items and toys for underprivileged children. The items are then packed into shoe boxes and shipped all over the world. “It’s just taken to kids who have probably never had anything, and it also contains the story of the gospel,” event organizer Pam Moultrie said. First Baptist Church collected more than 3,000 full shoe boxes in the drive.
