TCA’s Pagoaga blossoming in playoffs

Playing defense comes natural for TCA senior Sergio Pagoaga. The defensive end has been doing it since he was a sophomore. The same can’t be said about his offense. “I’ve been talking to the coaches a lot about things I can do better,” Pagoaga said. “When we go against teams that run the ball or pass a lot, they will tell me to make adjustments.” Pagoaga constantly wants to sharpen his craft. His growth as first-year wide receiver is peaking at the perfect time for the Lions. Pagoaga has had some memorable jump-ball touchdown catches in playoffs. He’s also one the team’s top pass rushers with 12 sacks. “Really impressed with his development and buy-in factor of getting better each week and its showed these past few weeks,” head coach Blake Butler said. “His number has been called and he’s made his play.” TCA will host Trezevant on Friday in the state semifinals.
