Peyton Manning to speak at Middle Tenn. sports awards event
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Peyton Manning will be the guest speaker at an inaugural event honoring high school athletes and coaches from Middle Tennessee.
The quarterback for the NFL’s Denver Broncos is a former University of Tennessee quarterback.
Manning will highlight the The Tennessean’s Middle Tennessee Sports Awards on May 26 at Music City Center. The newspaper’s high school athletes of the year will be announced at the dinner.
Other awards will be given to The Tennessean’s top athletes in each high school sport, along with top coaches.
Tennessean president and publisher Laura Hollingsworth says Manning is a role model on and off the field for today’s youth. He has been named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player five times.
Farm Bureau Health Plans is the presenting sponsor of the event.
