Marines accept toy donations for underprivileged children

JACKSON, Tenn. — Many are spending the day after shopping giving back this holiday season. The Jack Holland Detachment 753 Marine Corp League is hosting its 7th annual Toys for Tots drive. Marines were at the Old Country Store today to help raise toys and money for underprivileged kids in the area. Toys for Tots was started by the Marine Corp in the 1950’s, and this local detachment says toy drive makes Christmas that much sweeter for them. “All the people who are in our detachment, we are fortunate and we know it’s up to us to help our community give back and help our children and its just a good thing,” Commandant Bryce West said. You can make donations throughout the week at Bancorp South, Regions Bank, and other stores in the area. They will also be at the Old Country Store again next Saturday from 8AM to 2PM.
