Boyfriend of hit-and-run victim found shot multiple times
WAVELAND, Miss. (AP) — Waveland police say a man shot at his home over the weekend was the boyfriend of the woman found dead in a ditch on June 18.
Police Chief David Allen tells The Sun Herald authorities are searching for suspects in the shooting death of 42-year-old Jason Duffy.
Allen says police received a call about a shooting at 4:15 a.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, he says they found Duffy had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head.
Duffy died later at a Gulfport hospital
Allen says Duffy was in a relationship with 23-year-old Shelby Luciano, a Waveland woman who was the victim of a hit-and-run.
He says there’s no evidence the two deaths are connected.
Allen said police are not releasing more details on the shooting until the investigation is complete.
