Mississippi troopers: 4 fatal accidents over Thanksgiving
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol ended its Thanksgiving enforcement period Sunday night.
Capt. Johnny Poulos said in a news release troopers issued 6,198 citations with 121 DUI arrests.
Poulos says troopers investigated 221 vehicle accidents. He says four people were killed and 73 injured on state, federal highways, and interstates.
He says the four fatal crashes investigated involved drivers not wearing seatbelts.
