Liberty Tech’s football team is treating their season finale against South Side very seriously. The Crusaders haven’t seen too many teams like the Hawks before. “We’ve only played a couple teams that pass the ball around. This is a great opportunity for us to show people we can defend the pass,” head coach Tyler Turner said. “Their quarterback runs his offense great.” A win on Friday gives Liberty their first perfect regular season. Turner says his players make him look good. “Didn’t really know what to expect,” Turner said about his first-year as head coach. “But after being with the players for a few months, I knew we had the chance to be very good.” Senior Hunter Brown is glad everyone bought into Turner’s system. “We’ve had a lot of great players here, but this has never happened before,” Brown sad. “It’s going to be special for us if we can get it done.” Liberty’s unbeaten mark will also give them a chance to play at home in the playoffs. “We wont have to travel far, so that takes off a little bit of the focus,” senior Malique Bowen said. “We love our support from our fans.”
