Fatal truck wreck claims 2 lives in Haywood County

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — Two people are dead after a fiery Haywood County wreck. The two-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday on Highway 54 about two miles west of Brownsville. A tractor-trailer and a pickup truck were involved in the crash, and one person in each vehicle was killed, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Both trucks caught fire, and crews on scene are in the process of removing the bodies from the vehicles. The crash is still being investigated.
