Firefighters give back in ‘Fill the Boot’ fundraiser for MD

JACKSON, Tenn.-Jackson firefighters give back in a big way to the West Tennessee Muscular Dystrophy Association. Thursday, the firefighters presented their $6,800 check to the group, the largest amount they have ever raised. The funds were raised through the “Fill the Boot” campaign, which was set up at stores and locations throughout Jackson. “The future to me is from the children we have today and if we can stop the disease and help provide a cure for them, it just makes life better for all of us,” said Tony Murdaugh, with the Jackson Firefighters Association. Muscular Dystrophy includes more than 40 neuromuscular diseases that affect people of all ages.
